DIY Easy Dreamy Love Card Making Theme

An Easy Step-by-Step Card Making Guide to Make a "I'm Thinking About You" Card.

You don't have to wait for Valentine's Day to tell someone how much you love them. Card Making is a great way to show your loved one that you are thinking of them. A simple gesture goes a long way. In this card making project, I will show you how to make a card with a cute and romantic design.

Materials that you need:
  1. A2 Top folder card base
  2. You're my cup of coffee stamp - by Hero Arts
  3. Glossy Accents - by Rangers
  4. Black pigment ink - by BRILLIANCE Tsukineko
  5. Sponge dauber - by  Imagin Crafts (can be replaced with make up sponge)
  6. Heart & Star shape stamp by Lawn Fawn -Hello Sunshine stamp set
  7. Heart shape balloon by Lawn Fawn - Hello Sunshine stamp set
  8. VersaMagic -Aquatic Splash
  9. VersaMagic -Mango Madness
  10. VersaColor -159 Mountain Lake
  11. VersaColor -160 Winter Green
  12. Acrylic Block
  13. Black Ink Pen
  14. Wink of Stella, Glitter pen (Optional)
Step 1: Let's get the stamp INKed!
Make sure the stamp is perfectly inked with the stamp pad, just like this image. The stamp image will be the main focus on the card.

Tip: Hold the ink pad and press firmly on the stamp pad. It will ink the stamp evenly.
Optional: You may heat emboss the image to create a more textured look.

Step 2: Creating colour
Using VersaMagic -Aquatic Splash, I usually start light colour; then gradually create with darker colours. A greenish colour will help create a more magical look- like the aurora borealis!

Tip: Practice on a piece of paper first to avoid mistakes. You may also replace the sponge with a make-up sponge.

Step 3: Blending colour
Next, blend the green smoke with VersaMagic-Mango Madness. You only need a few touch of yellow, not too much or too thick.

Step 4: Darkening colour
Now, we are finishing up with Versa Colour - Mountain Lake and Winter Green to create perfect gradient for the dreamy smoke.

Step 5: Enhancing the card
Once you're happy with the gradient, move on by stamping the balloon on top of the cup.

Step 6: Tiny stamping
Who needs an acrylic block when you have such a cute tiny stamp! We have fingers don't we?

*Singing* Starry, starry night... Paint your palette blue and grey... Look out on a summer's day...

Step 7: Final touch ups!
Scribble scribble, tie the balloons up with your pen!

You may stop here if you are happy with the result, but I'm not done yet.

More final touches...
Found this Glossy Accents by Rangers. Apart from Wink of Stella, it's my next best thing.

Adding a blush of glowing glitter on my cup! Be careful when you are doing this, the ink may smear, making the card look dirty.

This is how the glossy accents look on the balloons.

If you are new to this, remember to allow it the glossy accents set into it. You need some time to do this, otherwise you may ruin the project like me. Oops! =P
Ta-dah! Here it is! A simple yet meaningful and dreamy card to express your love! Hope you like it!

Enjoy!
